Willis Word

Willis Neal Word age 84 of Edmonton passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at his home. He was the son of the late Oren and Bertha Hayes Word. He was a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, May 15th at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday and after 9:00 AM Sunday at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife Norma Willenberg Word. One son Larry Word and wife Brenda of Park City. One daughter Meshell Word of Edmonton. Two step sons. Ken McCormic and wife Jacque of Tompkinsville. Ron McCormic of Mt Hermon, Kentucky. Two step daughters; Sharon Followell of Whiteland, Indiana and Joyce Swisher and husband Gordon of Greenwood, Indiana. One sister Marine Caffee of Columbus, Indiana. Three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Lisa Adams, two brothers and four sisters. Leron and Charles Word, Maxine Staples, Lois McFarland, Aline Stephens and Betty Gibson.
