Timothy Allen South, age 74, of Edmonton, passed away on October 19, 2026, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born on December 15, 1951, to the late Overton South and Dorothy Rock South.

Tim shared 49 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sherry Lynn Daugherty South. Together, they built a life and family filled with love and cherished memories.

A proud United States Army veteran, Tim served during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Private Second Class (PV2) and serving as a clerk. Following his Army service, Tim also served his country as a member of the National Guard. His military service remained an important part of his life and was a source of pride.

Tim was a beloved custodian at Metcalfe County High School, a job he truly enjoyed. More than simply a place of employment, the school and its students held a special place in his heart. Tim loved the kids at school and genuinely enjoyed being around them each day. Through the years, he became a familiar and cherished presence to generations of students, faculty, and staff, and the relationships he formed there meant a great deal to him.

Tim was also a member of Edmonton Worship Center, where he found fellowship and shared in a community of faith.

In addition to his wife, Sherry, Tim is survived by his son, Matthew Aaron South and his wife, Tina; two grandsons, Luke Aaron South and his wife, Molly, and Isaac Paul South; his brother, Joel South and his wife, Debbie; his sister-in-law, Judy South; and his niece, Lorie Ann Eastridge and her husband, Mike., a great niece, Hillary Taylor and husband Josh. He is also survived by other cousins and family members and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his brother, David South, a nephew Chris South and a great nephew, Caleb Eastridge.

Tim will be remembered for the lasting impact he made through his military service, his years at Metcalfe County High School, his faith, and above all, the love he shared with his family and the many people whose lives he touched.
