Sherry Lynn Edwards

Sherry Lynn Edwards, 61 of Edmonton, KY passed away Wednesday, July 8,2026, at TJ Samson Hospital. She was born November 14,1964, to the late Bobby Edwards and Patricia Oakes.

She is survived by her father Jerry Oakes of Edmonton, two sisters Alicia Reed (Steve) of Randolph, and Julie Botts (Spencer) of Glasgow, nephews Matthew Reed (Mattie), Jonathan Reed (Kelly), nieces Hayden Botts and Ashton Botts, great nieces Marley Reed and Mollie Reed, half-sisters Lori Crane (Corey) and Ann Collins (Kevin), best friends Angie King and the late Carolyn Garner. Sherry also had many special friends at Sumitomo. 

Sherry was a dedicated employee of Sumitomo Wiring Systems, where she faithfully worked from May 23, 1988, until her passing. Through nearly four decades of service, she was known for her strong work ethic, loyalty, and commitment. 

She was a simple woman whose greatest joys were found in life’s little moments. She didn’t need extravagant things to be happy; she found contentment in the everyday blessings that surrounded her. Her little dog, Ivy brought was the light of her life and her constant companion. Her gentle spirit and appreciation for the simple things in life left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved her.

In keeping Sherry's wishes the family has chosen cremation with a private celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Metcalfe County Animal Shelter or The Metcalfe County Education Foundation / Gary Lawerence Richardson Scholarship Fund.
