Sam Boles

Sam Melton Boles, 77 of Glasgow passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021 in Christiana, Tennessee. Sam was born in Glasgow, May 28, 1944. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Elizabeth Boles and Elbert and Christine Watkins. Besides his parents Sam was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Boles in May of this year. Also preceded by a grandchild, Christian Goodroe. Sam was of the Methodist faith and retired from UPS. Sam was passionate about his work and enjoyed talking about it. Sam was a people person and top- notch father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed retirement and devoted his time to family and the needs thereof. Sam is survived by three daughters. Christy Dozier and husband Bob of Christiana, Tennessee. Jessie Stevens and husband John Cline of Glasgow. Melissa Goodroe and husband Jimmy of Glasgow. Three sons. Sammy Boles and wife Tammy of Beech Grove, Tennessee. Larry Akin and wife Rhonda of Decatur, Alabama. Bobby Garvin of Glasgow. A very special son Kaden Garvin. Twenty-one grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Two sisters and a brother. Patricia Lawrence of Woodburn, Joyce White of Bowling Green and Tommy Boles of Bowling Green. Funeral services for Sam will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 23rd at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton. Burial will be in the Missionary Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday and after 10:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the Cancer Society or Diabetes Association.
