Peter Charles Kafer

Peter Charles Kafer, 81 of Edmonton, KY passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at his residence. He was born February 8, 1944, in White Plains, NY to the late Charles Kafer and Anna Sue Johnson.

Peter built a life that reflected his values — hard work, independence, and a love of learning. After settling on undeveloped land in Kentucky, he constructed his own home and created a working farm, where he later ran a successful cheese business. He did this hard work alongside his wife, Claudia, until her passing. In the years that followed, Peter continued to live fully and joyfully with his partner, Kathleen. He enjoyed sailing, traveling, and cooking, and was known for always being curious and eager to try something new. Peter’s life was a rich mix of self-reliance and open-hearted exploration.

He is survived by his companion Kathleen Kimber, one son Matthew Kafer and brother Ron (Sonya) Kafer. 

In honor of Peter's wishes there will be a private graveside service.
