Patricia Ann Thompson

Patricia "Patti" Ann Thompson, 88 of Edmonton, KY passed away Thursday, September 17,2026 at Metcalfe Health & Reb. She was born in Versailles, KY on July 12,1938 to the late Frank and Helen Holman McGoldrick. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son William Bruce Bishop. 

Patti was a sweet and caring soul who had a heart for taking care of others. She was a member of Edmonton Worship Center, and her kindness and compassion were evident in the way she lived her life and cared for those around her. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and found great joy in doing for others.

Patti loved animals and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially going out on the boat and skiing. She was also a proud Kentucky sports fan and loved cheering on the Wildcats.

Throughout her life, Patti had the special opportunity to work alongside former Kentucky Governor Martha Layne Collins, an experience that became a memorable part of her life.

She is survived by her husband John David Thompson, daughter Jane Bishop, grandson William Clay Bishop (Katelyn), great granddaughter Abigail Martha Bishop, two stepsons John Thompson (Kimberly) and David Thompson (Julie). She is also survived by six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. 

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Sunday, September 18,2026, at the Edmonton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Metcalfe County Animal Shelter.
