Jeffery Clay Glass, known to many as Jeff, 69, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2026, at TJ Samson Community Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born in Glasgow, KY on August 6, 1957, to the late Arlie Lawrence Glass and the late Velma Irene "Doby" Gunnells Glass.

Jeff built a life marked by devotion to his family, pride in his work, and appreciation for the everyday routines that brought him joy. He worked for himself as a mechanic, rebuilding starters in a trade that reflected both skill and patience. His hands-on knowledge and independent spirit were central to the work he did over the years.

Jeff will be remembered most for the love he gave to those closest to him. He especially loved his wife of 46 years, and that enduring bond stood at the center of his life. He also enjoyed lawn mowing, a task he approached in his own time and with his own care, often taking as long as he pleased. That simple pleasure was one of the many small ways his personality shone through.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Glass; his brother-in-law, David Froedge; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Sandy Hagan, Becky Johnson, Lisa Bledsoe, Rev. Timmy Glass, and Larry Glass.

The family has honored Mr. Glass's wishes and chose cremation.

Butler Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted to the care of Mr. Glass.
