Howard Oakes

Howard Rowe Oakes,90, passed away Thursday August 10, 2022. Rowe was born on April 8,1932 to his parents Harvey and Ethel (McKinney) Oakes. He loved to play his guitar, mow grass, sing gospel music. He went to WXLN-AM in Indiana played his guitar and sang. He retired from Valley High School as a teacher and counselor. Preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Survived by his cousins Debbie Smith (David) of Edmonton, Ky; Becky Bowman (Gerry) of Temple Hill, Ky; David Clark (Theresa) of Tallahassee, Florida; close friends Janet Roberts (Dennis) and Brother and sister Cole; many special neighbors and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday August 13, 2022, 1:00pm (central time) Butler Funeral Home,201 East St. Edmonton, Ky with burial to follow Pink Ridge Cemetery in Edmonton, Ky. Visitation will be Friday 2:00-5:00pm (eastern time) Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway Louisville, Ky, and Saturday 9:00-1:00pm (central time) at Butler Funeral Home Edmonton, Ky.
