Dovie Strode

Dovie M. Young London Strode of Center, daughter of the late Ellis and Lucille (Fancher) Young of Savoyard, Kentucky was born December 7, 1928 and departed this life on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 12:13 PM. She was 93. She made a profession of faith in Christ and was baptized. She became a member of Savoyard Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and worked for The American Air Filter Company for almost 30 years. She united in marriage to James Walton London (now deceased) on April 12, 1947. To this union was born twin girls. Patricia Dale Miller of Munfordville and Linda Gail Thompson (deceased) and husband Wayne of Upton, Kentucky. On November 2, 1963 she united in marriage to Jack E. Strode. To this union was born two children. One son; Jack Eric and wife Lisa of Center, Kentucky and one daughter Kim Strode of Cub Run, Kentucky. Also preceded in death by her siblings, Ruth D. Jones and Ellis Wayne Young. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Strode will be held 2:30 PM Saturday, August 13th at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial to follow in the Buck Hill Cemetery.
