Donald Wayne Harbison, 84 of Edmonton, KY passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at his residence. He was born October 30, 1941, to the late Marvin and Ollie Allbright Harbison. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Elsworth Harbison.
A member of the Willow Shade Church of Christ, Donald's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He cherished the fellowship and support of his church family. Donald enjoyed a distinguished career, having retired from Farmers RECC after more than 40 years of dedicated service. His work ethic and commitment to excellence earned him respect among his colleagues and the community he served throughout his life.
In his leisure time, Donald was known for his love of horses. He spent countless hours working with them and took great joy in showing them, proudly maintaining a barn filled with horses. He also enjoyed bird hunting, relishing the time spent in nature and the thrill of the hunt. Above all, Donald found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren. His family was the heart of his life, and he cherished every moment together.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Jean Garrett Harbison of Edmonton, two sons Gary (Leandra) Harbison of Glasgow and Charles (Monica) Harbison of Edmonton, four grandchildren Autumn Harbison, Kyle (Rhonda) Harbison, Jennifer (Lane) Dyer, and Hunter (Reagan) Harbison, step grandchildren Jessica (Greg) Crowe, Breanna Pedigo and Kayle Pedigo, great grandchildren Braxton, Creed, Beckham, Emma, Paisley, Kason, Kambree, Keith, Lily, Lenice, Avie, and Kenzleigh, one sister Janette Edmunds of Randolph. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Donald Harbison will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday and after 8:00 AM Tuesday until time of the service at the funeral home.
