Bobby Mitchell Barrett, 86 of Summer Shade passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow. Born, October 12, 1935 in Metcalfe County he was the son of the late R.P. and Beluah Jesmond James Barrett. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers. Lonnie and Archie Barrett. After high school Mr. Barrett served in the United States Navy and later retired from General Telephone and then worked 11 years at South Central Rural Telephone Coop in Glasgow. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ. Mr. Barrett is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Margaret Harper Barrett of Summer Shade. A son Mitchell and wife Tina of Bowling Green. Daughter, LaKettia and husband Tommy O'Leary of Edmonton. Five grandchildren. Dylan and Cole Barrett of Bowling Green. Kelsey (Zach) Guiler of Summer Shade, Kristin (Michael) Miller of Lexington and Maggie O'Leary of Summer Shade. One great grandson Joseph Guiler. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Bobby Barrett will be held 4:30 PM, Sunday, May 22nd at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Saturday and 9:00 AM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home, T.J.
