Billy J Harper, 76 of Edmonton passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at his home. Born July 13, 1945 in Columbus, Indiana to the late John Henry "Doc" and Mary Magaline "Maggie" Harper. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Michael. Two brothers, John Earl and Roger Dale Harper. Billy was retired from Amtrak as a welder and of the Protestant faith. Billy enjoyed working on old tractors and small engines. His number one hobby was his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Loretta Hammond Harper. Three children. Gidget Rhude and Billy Harper both of Freedom, Indiana. Tamera Scott of Spencer, Indiana. Two brothers, Marshall Harper of Edmonton and Tommy Harper of Tennessee. Two sisters, Linda Taylor and Sue White both of Glasgow. His grandchildren, Brittany, Brielle, Christopher, Dylan, Savannah, Taylor, Wesley, Terry, Constance, Michael, Billy and Natalia. Eighteen great grandchildren survive along with his little fur buddy Snowball. In honoring Billy's wishes cremation was chosen and no formal services are scheduled.
