Stanley A. Brown, 86, of Edmonton, peacefully passed away at his home on September 28th while surrounded by family. He was born August 8th, 1936 in Edmonton to the late Carl Brown and Bertha Walbert Brown. At 18, he joined the United States Navy where he served from 1954-1957 aboard the USS Perry. Afterward, he spent time traveling the US while working in telecommunications. He then worked in various construction capacities but spent the majority of his days operating the family farm. While KY has always been home, he loved his travels to Kansas where he enjoyed spending time with his family as well as the opportunity to witness and participate in their daily work in construction and farming. He is survived by his wife, Sue Conrad Brown, two sisters, Mary Nance and Martha Jessee (Ed), three daughters, Alisa White (Mike), Becky Burris (Stanley) and Tammy Saltsman (Keith), and one son, the joy of his life, Jason Brown, all of Edmonton. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Neal Brown, two sisters, Florence Moore and Pearl Estes, three brother-in-laws, Bill Moore, Twyman Estes & Wilbert Nance, one nephew, Chris Brown, and one grandson, Robert Burris. Funeral services for Stanley are to be held at Butler Funeral Home on Sunday, October 2nd with visitation beginning at 11:00 am to be followed by the service at 2:00 pm with officiating by Brother Larry Wilson. Burial will be in the White Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers are Billy Davis, Daniel Saltsman, Kaleb Burris, Gavin Taylor, John Michael White, and Travis Wilson along with grand-daughters Angie Wilson and Kirby Acree. Honorary pallbearers are Tony Johnson, Danny Lohden, James Reece, Stan Reece and Colton Davis.
