Ancel Reeves Froedge

Ancel Reeves Froedge, 84 of Edmonton passed away peacefully February 28,2023 at TJ Samson Community Hospital with his two sons at his bedside. Born January 20,1939 to the late Buell C. Froedge and Maggie Jennings Froedge. He made a profession of faith at an early age and was a member of the Grace Union Baptist Church. Ancel loved to work and was known for having a strong work ethic. He retired from Eaton Axle-Dana Corp and then went to work at TJ Samson Hospital. He worked there several years in housekeeping up until 2020 and only quit then due to his health declined while battling cancer. He was an avid UK basketball fan, loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He loved his furbaby "Precious" in which he adored. Ancel was a kind, gentle and soft spoken man that was loved by many. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Alyne Froedge . Two sons Michael (Michelle) Froedge and Charles Froedge both of Edmonton. Grandchildren Eric Froedge of Edmonton and Tristan (Danielle) Froedge of Glasgow. Great grandchildren Atlas and Vanna. Sister Phyllis Froedge of Edmonton. Special caregiver Kathy Frick of Edmonton. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March7th at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00PM Monday and after 9:00 AM Tuesday until time of service. Butler Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to be entrusted to the care of Mr. Froedge.
